Common eMail Archiving Server Install Problems

NOTE: While troubleshooting email archiving server problems, be sure to enable troubleshoot (DEBUG) logging in the MailArchiva Server Console GUI. MailArchiva outputs detailed trace information to the ServerLog and WindowsAgentLog.

ActiveDirectoryAuthentication - You cannot get the MailArchiva email discovery and administration console to authenticate with Active Directory

EnvelopeJournalling - The mail archiving server is not processing or displaying MS Exchange Envelope Journalled Messages

CannotAccessVolume - You cannot access archive emails in an older volume.

CannotCreateVolume - A new volume cannot be created on a network drive (listed as EJECTED)

CannotEffectVolumeStatusChange - An existing ACTIVE volume cannot be CLOSED, or another status change cannot be effected

LdapAuthentication - You're having trouble configuring the MailArchiva email archiving solution to authenticate against LDAP

UserCannotSeeEmails - AD authentication is working, but end-user cannot see their archived emails

FailedToRetrieveRequestedMessage - when opening emails you are getting the error "failed to retrieve the requested message"

CannotConnectToExchangeJournal - failed to connect to the Exchange journal account
